Martina Peštová je autodidakt věnující se krajinomalbě. Zaznamenává podobu současné krajiny v její pomíjivosti a neustálé změně. Zvláště pak si klade otázku, v jaké podobě naši krajinu nalezneme za pár desetiletí. Budou tu ještě ona malebná zákoutí, či ne…
Umění ji provází v různých formách již řadu let. Věnovala se sportovní fotografii a v počátcích i abstraktní malbě, přes kterou hledala svou uměleckou cestu. Zakotvila ve vodách realistické krajinomalby olejem, která ji učí, kromě toho dívat se na svět jinýma očima, i pokoře.
Náměty pro své obrazy hledá srdcem, jsou velmi osobní. Osudovou je pro ni krajina jejího dětství – krajina kamenů, jejich paměť a energie. Její oblíbenou krajinou je jednoznačně ta zimní a podzimní. Důležitá je pro ni výsledná energie obrazu – aby se člověk při pohledu na obraz v něm sám ocitl.

Nestled amidst the picturesque scenery she calls home, Pestova’s paintings transport viewers to a realm where towering stones serve as silent witnesses to the passage of time. These stones, strewn generously across the land, hold within them the memories of nature’s evolution and the whispers of ancient civilizations, including traces of the Celts who once inhabited the region.
Working primarily in oil paints, Pestova employs a meticulous realistic style to breathe life into her canvases.
